ABA Child Law Practice
This article offers practical guidance to counsel for the nonresident father seeking custody of the child or some other custodial arrangement that would let him maintain an ongoing relationship with his child (e.g., kinship care with a paternal relative or open adoption). It assumes the nonresident father is not he "offending" parent in the dependency case, and that he has appeared in court and is working cooperatively with appointed counsel. (Author abstract)
