In Parenting Wisely: Young Children, seven typical problem situations are presented including: misbehaving at the grocery store, interrupting telephone conversations, problems getting along with friends, how to parent when stepparents or grandparents also live in the household, school and homework problems, sibling fighting, and how to get children off to bed and ready for school on time.

Based on the success of the original Parenting Wisely program, this new version is specifically designed to address the unique communication and compliance needs of parents of younger children by teaching the following parenting skills: redirection, active listening, "I" statements, nondirective play, fostering social skills, communicating with school, time out, and setting limits/consequences.

Using the same format as the original Parenting Wisely (PW), Parenting Wisely: Young Children: allows parents to view common problems enacted in professional quality digital video scenes; provides multiple solutions; and critiques both effective and ineffective parenting methods; and teaches valuable communication and behavior management skills.

The Parenting Wisely: Young Children Program Kit includes: 1 PARENTING WISELY: Young Children Program Interactive CD-ROM; 5 Young Children parent workbooks; 5 program completion certificates; 10 agency referral cards; 20 informational parent brochures; 1 Poster announcing Parenting Wisely; 1 Floppy disc with evaluation forms, scoring keys, and program evaluation guide; Parent sign up forms; and 1 Service Provider's Guide.
