Between fifteen and twenty-five hundred batterer intervention programs (BIPs) are currently in operation across the country. Goals, methods, and outcomes vary tremendously from program to program despite certification standards in most states. Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) is a parent involvement, school readiness program that helps parents prepare their three, four, and five year old children for success in school and beyond. The Alabama Department of Child Abuse Prevention (DCAP) -- The Children's Trust Fund (CTF) has a more than 25 year history as the only state agency explicitly focused on educating our communities about child abuse and neglect and providing prevention programs.
