This chapter highlights lessons from a collaborative effort between the Dakota Fatherhood Initiative and the Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation, an effort that developed a local fatherhood initiative for serving fathers and their families within the Sioux Falls area. The development of the initiative, the launch of the grassroots community-based effort, and sector action plans for strengthening fatherhood are described.
