Journal Article The purpose of this study was to longitudinally examine the relationship between father involvement in school settings and student achievement. The sample, pulled from the first and second waves of the PSID-CDS data set, consisted of 596 families with children aged 5-12 at time 1. Journal Article Using multi-informant data from 134 two-parent African American families, the goals of this study were to (a) describe parent-adolescent warmth and shared time as a function of parent and youth gender and (b) assess links between these indices of relationship quality and adolescent adjustment. Journal Article Latinos make up the largest racial/ethnic minority group in the United States, yet we know very little about Latino fathers' involvement in their children's lives. This article adds school participation to conceptualizations of paternal involvement and contributes to an understanding of the role of immigrant acculturation in shaping Latino parenting practices.
