Journal Article This paper reviews research on adolescent parenthood. Related factors such as social, economic and educational background are examined as well as psychological factors. The study makes extensive comparisons on a variety of issues. However, for a fundamental change to be made in early intercourse and childbearing, such social factors as poverty, unemployment, and racism must be taken into consideration.

Journal Article The author studies the phenomenon of unwed fathers seeking custody of their offspring. Four case studies are cited. They illustrate the motives of the fathers and how they hinder adoption procedures which are otherwise routine. Supreme Court findings are reviewed. Parental rights and child visitation are issues raised by the emerging rights of unwed fathers vis-a-vis their children. Implications for attorneys and therapists working with unwed mothers are addressed.
